North Block Hotel

Loved this delightful hotel. Perfect size for our tastes - spacious but small. Design was very appealing - sharp but not overdone. Great bathrooms. The shining star of this property is the staff. Every member we came across went above and beyond to be helpful. Front desk, bartender, gardeners. While they all must have job descriptions, we felt like their only job was basically to satisfy the customer.

Where do I even start?! We stayed at North Block Hotel in Yountville, CA this July to celebrate my birthday and our 20th anniversary, and I truly wish I could give it more than five stars. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, genuine, and flawless. Tucked away at the end of Washington Street, the property feels peaceful and secluded yet is just steps from incredible restaurants, bakeries, and galleries. Check-in was seamless. Our bags were whisked to the room while we strolled through the perfectly manicured courtyard. Waiting inside: chilled champagne on ice and a handwritten welcome note for our special occasion, an unforgettable first impression. Our room was stunning: spacious, immaculate, and thoughtfully designed. A huge bathroom with rain shower, soaking tub (complete with candle and bath salts), and double vanity. A comfortable bed, Nespresso with espresso cups, and the showstopper: double doors opening to a private patio with terracotta tiles, lush greenery, and a dreamy daybed. The service here is next level. Davis went above and beyond to set up our TV so we could watch the Formula 1 race. Carter, Javier, and Raphael were always ready with a smile, great tips, or a few extra Nespresso pods. Housekeeping was meticulous, with turndown service and little evening treats. The pool area was serene and sophisticated, with quiet guests, soft music, and plenty of loungers. Breakfast felt European: fresh fruit, flaky pastries, artisanal breads, yogurt, meats, cheeses, coffee, and mimosas. I loved being able to pop into the lobby anytime for a complimentary glass of wine or champagne. And our two Italian Greyhounds? They were treated like VIPs—with beds, bowls, toys, treats, and even chilled bottled water waiting for them. How sweet is that?! North Block exudes elegance and comfort without a hint of pretension. After a couple of stressful years, the combination of the staff’s kindness and the hotel’s peaceful atmosphere was truly restorative. Couples, solo travelers, and dog owners, this is your tranquil, upscale escape. We’re already planning our return.

One of our favorite places. They exceeded all expectations. Davis was genuinely welcoming and made us feel right at home. Oscar, not only assisted with our luggage, but also gave us a very helpful tour of the room. The housekeeping team went above and beyond with extra attention to small details that were very thoughtful. Brenden and Reid are top-notch bartenders and we really enjoyed the great conversation and exceptional cocktails. Brenden's recommdations were spot on and he made some of the most beautifully crafted cocktails. The location is perfect - very walkable to everything. We can't wait to come stay here again.

We stayed the night because we wanted to try the Tasting Menu at The Restaurant at North Block paired with wine. The restaurant and pairings were outstanding. The hotel stay was excellent as well. Room, service and location all five stars. We were greeted with wine, personal service to our room, enjoyed a complimentary whiskey tasting at night and had personalized poolside service. Definitely heading back!

I had an amazing stay at the North Block hotel in the beautiful town of Yountvillle. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with a smile and glass of wine. The service at this place is top notch and the rooms are just immaculate. You could bounce a quarter off of these pristine bed sheets. And everything is fashioned by RH which just so happens to be next door. They have a great restaurant next door and also offer you a complimentary drink at the bar. You can even rent bicycles and go into town which is exactly what we did and stopped by The French Laundry, Bouchon Bakery, and Bistro Jeantry. Literally, minutes away. I wish we would have stayed a few more days longer, but we only stayed one day. I highly recommend this place for your next visit to Napa!

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I was almost tempted to skip this review so as to keep this little gem hidden. The service here is second to none, the attention to detail is exquisite, down to personalized menu cards and anniversary bubbles waiting for us in our room. The place is extremely clean and guests' needs are constantly anticipated, down to a seemingly never-ending supply of towels, coffee capsules and chocolates in the rooms. And what to say about the quality of shampoos and toiletries in the bathrooms, they are definitely spa quality. This place is ideal for couples coming to celebrate a special occasion or just to get away from the busy day-to-day in the Bay Area. The degustation menu is also really well-crafted, including the perfect medium-rare steak you could ask for (and trust me, I am a snob when it comes to steak temperatures). Overall, a great little find close to home. 10/10

Gorgeous Hotel, it looks like your walking in a small Italian city. But MOST Important is the outstanding service. I have never been treated so nicely at any hotel. David welcomed us with a delicious chocolate chip cookie, Carter followed up on our stay and helped us get a complimentary Wine Tasting. Heike was so kind during our breakfast both mornings. We were very thankful for the comfortable bed and the great service the housekeeping team provided. They came a few times to make sure we had what we needed. Lupita was very helpful to show us where the Spa & massage rooms were located. It was such a great experience from beginning to the end. I hope I can come back soon and enjoy this beautiful place where also you can take beautiful pictures. Thanks again!!!!

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for about a week. We enjoyed every single thing about the location, the facility, and definitely the staff. Probably our highlight was coming into the main lobby having a cookie, and striking up a conversation with the staff. They are some of the nicest people we have met in our travels. We could not recommend this property enough. Thank you.
